Martinikerk church

Majestic - an accurate description of the Late Gothic Martinikerk. The church is approx. 30 metres wide and 94 metres long and in its current form it dates from the period 1485-1530. During the most recent restoration work between 1959 and 1972 the foundations of an ancient Roman church were uncovered, the contours of which are plainly visible in the current church floor. Concerts are held here regularly, including performances on the famous Walcker organ.
