Chilling out down on the IJssel

Doesburg lies on the spot where the Oude IJssel river flows into the Gelderse IJssel river. It is certainly worth while hiring a boat for a trip of one or two hours on the water. There is also an old ferry that runs trips on the Oude IJssel and you can sail from Laag-Keppel or Doetinchem to Arnhem or Zutphen. Enjoy the fresh breeze, the panoramic views and the wildlife and woodlands along the river. You can also enjoy the same experience by taking a walking or cycling tour of the IJssel wetlands. Of course, there is also no shortage of things to see and do along the quayside in town. Sit back with a drink on the terrace of Stadshotel Doesburg or LOC' 17 and watch the world go by.
